About Our Homestead
Welcome to our homestead. We’re separating from the noise, tending the land, and crafting small-batch natural products right here in Fort Valley, Georgia.
Our journey here started with a simple choice: to build a simpler, self-sufficient life for our family. After serving for 14 years in the Air Force, I separated from the military in 2025, shortly after our son was born. My husband and I realized we wanted to step away from the fast-paced momentum of our old careers to root ourselves in something tangible. We wanted our son to grow up with his hands in the dirt, learning where his food comes from and experiencing a child-led, curiosity-driven life.
When we found this property, it felt like the perfect head start—it already had a chicken coop, a rabbit hutch, and a dedicated raised garden bed section ready to go. We packed up, moved to middle Georgia, and jumped headfirst into homesteading.
Why "Frog Haven Farm"?
The name of our homestead comes from a mix of local magic and a deeply personal lifelong love.
I have always felt a spiritual connection to frogs that I can’t quite put into words. They are creatures that simply bring me pure happiness every single time I see one. Shortly after moving in, we discovered that our new home was a haven for them. Every night, tiny tree frogs gather to hang out on our patio, and the darkness is filled with the beautiful, grounding sound of toads singing across the property.
As we looked toward the future—planning to expand the garden beds and eventually introduce new livestock—the frogs reminded us of our core mission. We don’t want to dominate this land; we want to work with it.
Frog Haven Farm represents our commitment to regenerative agriculture. We are growing our homestead in a way that protects, enhances, and feeds the local ecosystem rather than disrupting it, ensuring our property remains a safe sanctuary for the wildlife, the singing toads, and our family.
Our "Learning Out Loud" Philosophy
We don’t have a lifetime of commercial farming experience, and we make it a point to learn out loud. We think it's important to be completely honest about that.
Whether we are managing our pasture-raised laying flock, tending to our traditional Three Sisters garden mounds, or formulating chemical-free personal care products from scratch at the kitchen counter—we only share what has truly worked for our own family.
Every jar of tooth powder, stick of tallow deodorant, and carton of hand-candled eggs is a direct reflection of this homestead. Everything we make is transparent, honest, and crafted with care right here at the haven.
Where We Are Going
We believe that homesteading is a journey, not a destination. Over the next few years, we are excited to expand our pastures to include meat chickens, pasture-raised pigs, and sheep, alongside a continuously growing vegetable and herb garden.
We are currently building a roadside farmstand from the ground up right here on our property. We want it to be a physical hub for our Fort Valley neighbors to come grab fresh, hand-candled Grade A eggs, seasonal goods, and natural products!
Meet the Crew
The Maker & Grower: Former Air Force, current full-time mom, native plant forager, and the formulation brain behind our all-natural product line.
The Co-Dreamer & Builder: The Retired Air Force partner in every late-night planning session, the muscle behind the infrastructure, and the one making sure the fences hold.
The Catalyst: Our toddler son, whose arrival changed our entire trajectory and who now serves as our chief dirt-tester and chicken-chaser.
Head of Security: Pippa takes her job incredibly seriously. As our Head of Security, she maintains a strict watch over the homestead perimeter, keeping a sharp eye out for local predators, stray shadows, and any delivery trucks rolling down the driveway. Nothing gets past her watch.
Deputy Chief of Security: Every great leader needs an enthusiastic right-hand pup. Beaux serves as our loyal Deputy, specializing in loud backup alerts, enthusiastic tail-wagging inspections, and ensuring the local squirrels stay thoroughly managed.
